I guess getting older is part of life; and along with it comes an adjustment – to life, to your energy level, and of course, to retail stores deciding to change the brands and styles they carry.
Along with this revelation, Sephora has proved to be no exception. This past weekend they were running a 2x points on skincare promotion, so naturally, I stopped by to pick up some of the goodies I mentioned in my last post.
I decided to seek out a new leave-in conditioner (I love Fekkai) and was shocked when I was greeted with only a handful of options – and none of the ones I’m used to seeing. What the $%%##? Fekkai is nowhere to be found! The lady informed me they no longer carry that brand. Why? Is it too low-scale for their classy hair products?
I’m the kind of girl that carries a separate container in my purse chock-full of coupons. I love deals. But I also love luxury and prefer to dabble in both.
Is Sephora getting too snobby and exclusive with their haircare products? Or am I just getting too old and stuck in my ways? What do you think?
Just wanted to update you all to let you know of the great deal I got on one of my fave sites, reveboutique! As you may know, I am a huge Sky fan and when I can, I travel to their main warehouse on Robertson Blvd. when I’m in LA. Recently, along the lines of Sky, I have discovered Parides, a brand of kaftan-like dresses. I’ve always wanted to get one, and when I was scouring the internet, I realized that reveboutique has a special promo code for 10% off with code “REVE10” (thanks, retailmenot!)
Anyway, the patterns on the dresses are amazing and the fact you can wear the dress 3 different ways sealed the deal. What do you think of my new purchase? Here’s Kyle Richards from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in a similar pattern (um, can I have the bag too?!) It’s also a motivator since I have lost some weight thanks to all the yoga and pilates I’ve been doing!
So I have really been feeling Pinterest-y lately and have had a go at making my own thank you cards from our Hawaii nuptials last month.
What do you think??
I bought most of my crafts from Michaels, and saved a ton as well. My total came to over $100 but this coupon knocked it down to $77. I bought stickers, crafts for our upcoming dinner centerpieces, sand, and seashells. Not a bad price including tax, for almost 15 pages of scrapbooking stickers, 3 glass vases, 2 packs of sand and seashells.
I still need a picture frame for our reception, so I’ll be back for that – if I can, I’ll come back before the promo code expires 5/22!!
And no, I’m not talking about the shoes you find in the store parking lot or right next to a dumpster (not that I find them over there, either). I’m talking the shoes you find at a Nordstrom Rack store near you.
Recently on our last trip to the outlets, we stopped by Nordstrom Rack and among our shopping genius finds, picked up a couple pairs of shoes. Our total came to 150 bucks, which we found to be strange considering we had 7 items (and 2 pairs of shoes!)
The saleslady said, “One of your shoe purchases came up as one cent!”
I was floored. I’d purchased a pair of Splendid shoes at a Nordstrom Rack once which originally cost $110 and then rang up as $5, so I felt that I was almost being paid to walk out of the store with them.
But one cent? What the heck can you even purchase these days that is normally one cent?
What was your best outlet score?
Onwards & Upwards,
Hope this weekend is a great one. Today was kind of a chill day, just hanging out at home and taking care of some loose ends.
Today’s clouds make the perfect opportunity to peruse the web, and I just had a thought of one of the online purchases I made earlier this week not for myself, but for my furry friend @ Glamourmutt.
While playing in doggie daycamp when mommy and daddy were working hard, she had the opportunity to bite off her harness from outside her crate. We had to order her a new one (the pink & zebra Susan Lanci is my fave!)
Best part of it all? I hit up RetailMeNot and saved 10% by using promo code “welcomemutt10”.
What’s your fave splurge for your pooch??
Onwards & upwards,
I love Ulta beauty for many reasons including coupons and sales! They always have deals or are sending me coupons and if I forget them, I can look them up on Retailmenot. It’s one of my fave couponing apps on my phone.
And just wanted to share with you that I was able to find Cargo cosmetics for 50% off there! What a steal! Anyone else have good luck with Ulta or deals they want to share??
I just wanted to share with you that I saved over $1500 booking my honeymoon to Hawaii with Orbitz. (www.orbitz.com). Wow, that sounds like a commercial tagline. I swear I’m not being paid for this! 😉
How, you may ask?
Simply enter the word “Celebrate” in the promo code box at checkout. If your hotel qualifies, you could save 15%!!
I believe tomorrow 1/8/14 is the last day to take advantage, but just wanted to pass on the good word.
