Dear Sephora, What Happened to Your Hair (section)?

I guess getting older is part of life; and along with it comes an adjustment – to life, to your energy level, and of course, to retail stores deciding to change the brands and styles they carry.

Along with this revelation, Sephora has proved to be no exception. This past weekend they were running a 2x points on skincare promotion, so naturally, I stopped by to pick up some of the goodies I mentioned in my last post.

I decided to seek out a new leave-in conditioner (I love Fekkai) and was shocked when I was greeted with only a handful of options – and none of the ones I’m used to seeing. What the $%%##? Fekkai is nowhere to be found! The lady informed me they no longer carry that brand. Why? Is it too low-scale for their classy hair products?

I’m the kind of girl that carries a separate container in my purse chock-full of coupons. I love deals. But I also love luxury and prefer to dabble in both.

Is Sephora getting too snobby and exclusive with their haircare products? Or am I just getting too old and stuck in my ways? What do you think?

XOXO

New Dress, New Adventures!

Just wanted to update you all to let you know of the great deal I got on one of my fave sites, reveboutique! As you may know, I am a huge Sky fan and when I can, I travel to their main warehouse on Robertson Blvd. when I’m in LA. Recently, along the lines of Sky, I have discovered Parides, a brand of kaftan-like dresses. I’ve always wanted to get one, and when I was scouring the internet, I realized that reveboutique has a special promo code for 10% off with code “REVE10” (thanks, retailmenot!)

Anyway, the patterns on the dresses are amazing and the fact you can wear the dress 3 different ways sealed the deal. What do you think of my new purchase? Here’s Kyle Richards from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in a similar pattern (um, can I have the bag too?!) It’s also a motivator since I have lost some weight thanks to all the yoga and pilates I’ve been doing!

Victoria’s Secret Coupon Weekend!!

Nothing like a good sale over President’s imagesWeekend, and I love me some coupons. But usually I hate getting tons of emails day after day from the store, trying to entice me to come in to buy something.

One of these exceptions is my email subscription to the Victoria’s Secret email list. This past weekend it saved me 20% off a most expensive item (I used it twice, no blackouts!) and saved me $40 in total. Love not spending retail price!!

What’s your favorite item to buy at Victoria’s Secret? I can never decide. I have almost the entire Pink collection and their Bridal selection is pretty awesome too (my hubby to be certainly doesn’t mind shopping there!). I’m definitely not an “extreme couponer”, but at the same time, I do stockpile my body lotions and bath gels from there. This weekend they also had their Fragrance Mists for just $5 (normally $12), so I picked up a couple. Gotta have my bathroom smelling nice! Their Pink fragrances are also a great deal and last literally forever compared to other designer scents. I wonder why that is!

SoCal Travel Buffs, Listen Up!!

If you haven’t heard of it yet, you need to check out Travelzoo for deals on anything from hotels, rental cars, flights, all-inclusive vacations…to local deals.

I signed up for their emails and every Wednesday like clockwork at 2 PM I get these awesome updates sent right to my iPhone. I never have boring weekends, but these definitely get my imagination flowing.

I’m digging the $89 special for massage and a facial (a $206 value!!! – insane! like over 50% off!!) at one of my fave hotels, the Fairmont Newport Beach.

Onwards and upwards,
